Lineage

More than an object. A living practice.

Concrete has held up temples, aqueducts and homes for two thousand years. We are the latest hands to pour it. We design every piece and make it ourselves.

Cast once.

Foundation of material truth.

Everything begins without edges. We build the form, calculate the mass and commit to the pour. Concrete does not forgive hesitation, and it does not hide behind a veneer. What cures, stays.

At Forma, we cast permanence into the places people live. Form stripped. Mass exposed. Bound for generations.

We are designers and makers of our own pieces. Every form in the collection is drawn by our studio and cast in our own facility, and every one of them can be made to measure.

Permanence is our material. Honesty is our language.

Concrete has no veneer to hide behind. Aggregate, air voids and tool marks stay visible, because they are the record of how the piece was made.

Two thousand years of pour

A history written in stone.

Every Forma piece carries the same chemistry that roofed the Pantheon. In 1824, Portland cement made stone something that could be made, not only found.

Rome

The Pantheon's dome is poured from lime and volcanic ash. Nearly nineteen centuries later, it is still the largest unreinforced concrete dome on earth.

Antiquity
Roman harbours

Seawater meets volcanic ash and the concrete grows stronger with time. The material learns to age by maturing.

1824
England

Joseph Aspdin patents Portland cement. Stone becomes something that can be made, not only found.

1867
Paris

A gardener, Joseph Monier, sets iron mesh inside concrete flowerpots. Reinforced concrete is born in an object for the home.

1952
Marseille

Le Corbusier leaves the formwork marks visible. Béton brut makes concrete without disguise architecture's most honest surface.

Today
San Clemente

Forma returns the material to where Monier began: objects that live inside a home, cast with the precision architecture taught us.

What the material gives back

Mass that holds the home.

Concrete is not only seen. It is felt in the temperature, the sound and the stillness of a room.

Thermal massIt holds warmth.

Concrete absorbs the heat of the day and returns it through the night. A room with mass breathes slower.

Acoustic massIt quiets space.

Density absorbs what lighter materials echo. Rooms grow calmer around it.

Mineral originIt grounds the room.

Lime, clay, sand and stone. Every piece brings the earth's own minerals indoors.

DurabilityIt does not tire.

Wood warps. Metal corrodes. Concrete carbonates, hardens and settles. It keeps its energy for decades.

Presence

A home is read by its weight.

Before anyone sits down, the room has already spoken. A single mass of stone tells a guest that this home was built to stay. It slows the eye. It anchors the light. It turns a corner into a place. Light furniture fills a room. A Forma piece defines it.

Objects come and go. Mass stays.

Our values

What we stand for.

Five principles behind every piece we cast.

Honest surface.

No paint, no veneer, no disguise. Aggregate, air voids and tool marks stay visible.

One pour.

Each piece is cast in a single, continuous form. No seams of compromise.

Patient cure.

Twenty-eight days of controlled hydration. Strength is not rushed.

Made to inherit.

We design for the next owner, not the next season.

Built in dialogue.

Architects, designers and homeowners shape each commission with us, from first sketch to final placement.

Craftsmanship & process

Made by hand. Proved by time.

Our forms are built by carpenters. Our mixes are measured by engineers. Then we wait. The piece is ready only when the stone says so.

01Material research

Each commission begins with aggregate, pigment and mix design for its setting.

02Mould fabrication

Bespoke formwork is machined or hand-built for every new form.

03Controlled casting

One continuous pour, vibrated and cured under controlled humidity for 28 days.

04Surface finishing

Grinding, honing, acid washing or brushing by hand, then a breathable seal.

ISO 9001:2015

Every piece is cast in a manufacturing facility in San Clemente, California, certified to the quality system trusted by aerospace. The same discipline now governs every pour we make for the home.
